Jan Smith, LMT

Massage Therapist

Jan has been a licensed healthcare provider since 1994. She is among the privileged few who formed the first graduating class at Myotherapy Institute in Lincoln, Nebraska, completing the 1000-hour massage therapy diploma program. Jan became a state licensed massage therapist soon after graduation, putting her skills to use in her home town of Valentine, Nebraska. She was the first massage therapist to successfully introduce a professional massage therapy practice in the farming and ranching community of only a few thousand. A year later, she took her successful formula to Norfolk, Nebraska, where Jan purchased and existing business and nearly doubled her client base within a year’s time. After that year, opportunity knocked again and success continued to follow her when she sold the Norfolk practice and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1996. Since that time, she has worked more hours in the massage room with clientele than what the total population is in the town where she began as a therapist. Vast experience and continued hours of training is highly regarded in the community of massage therapists and Jan has obtained a respectable status in both. Her use of Hot Stone Therapy, Muscle Release Technique, Infant Massage and Geriatric massage, has proven to be a winning combination for her continued success as a massage therapist. Clients appreciate Jan’s use of hot stones with every treatment, where she can meet each person’s therapeutic needs by incorporating a variety of deep tissue and gentle touch techniques. Her continued interest in education has created a desire to certify in Wastsu (a combination of Shiatsu and water therapy) within the next year. As she progressively obtains her training and certification, she wishes to introduce this highly unique and equally effective form of therapy to Nebraska. Advanced Massage Healthcare is extremely fortunate to have Jan as a staff member. She has proven to be one of Nebraska’s most valued and dedicated massage therapy professionals. A session with Jan will certainly prove to be one of the best massage experiences you can ever hope to have. Please take advantage of this opportunity to schedule with Jan. You will be glad you did.
