Massage Services
Advanced Massage Healthcare offers healthcare services for both patients and clients. The following information briefly explains the differences.
Medical Massage Patients
- An individual being prescribed massage therapy sessions by a physician is considered a patient under the referring physician's care plan
- Medical Massage sessions are specific to a physician's diagnosis and treatment plan. The medical massage therapist employs the use of physical medicine procedures that stay within the licensed massage therapist's professional scope of practice.
- Fees are billed according to the procedure codes outlined in the Massage for Medical Patients section
- Insurance claims will be filed when applicable
Massage Clients
- A person choosing to receive massage therapy under his/her own discretion is considered a valued massage client
- The massage client typically has more freedom to choose the type of service that will benefit his/her current or changing wellness needs. You and your massage therapist can determine whether a session is for stress relief or if the session is to recover from injury.
- Fees are charged according to the services outlined in the Massage for Clients section
- Flex spending accounts for out-of-pocket medical expenses often accept massage therapy receipts for reimbursement. Check with your benefits administrator to see if this is available to you.
Insurance Coverage for Patients
- Medical Massage Patients with injuries due to automobile or work accidents typically have insurance coverage for massage therapy
- The majority of Medical Health Insurance Plans currently deny massage therapy services as a covered benefit. However, more plans are including alternative care network discounts to members who visit participating providers.
- Coventry and Adventist Risk Management health plans have previously paid massage therapists for billed services. Check with your benefits administrator to see if this is a covered benefit.
MyoKinesthetic System
Developed by Dr. Michael Uriarte from Overland Park, KS
The MyoKinesthetic System is a highly efficient form of therapy that…
- Alleviates Pain
- Increases Function/Movement
- Improves and Balances Posture
- Clears muscle compensations
All in less than 15 minutes each session!
How can this work so quickly? This therapy does not require removal of clothing for the session. We focus on the nervous system while working on the muscular system through specific, guided muscle movements.
With the MyoKinesthetic System we are treating your healing ability through the nervous system rather than just treating your pain symptoms. The body is the true healer; the massage therapist is the facilitator.
We work on both upper and lower body conditions...
- Headaches
- Frozen shoulder
- Knee pain
- Pain in the hamstrings, legs & feet
- Low/Mid-back pain
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Posterior hip pain
